EMMA DUNHAM
FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY MENTOR, TRAINER & FOUNDER OF THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY ACADEMY

BASED IN LONDON & HOME COUNTIES
I've had a camera in my hand since a very early age and have been a professional photographer now for 19 years.

Photography was my 2nd career after being a sales & marketing manager for a chain of health & fitness clubs.

I love food and have travelled the world to experience as many different dishes and cultures as I can to have a full understanding of all foods.

So after my kiddies were born and I needed to change careers a step into photography felt like the natural choice.

For 15+ years I photographed people - families, kiddies, theatre, dance, corporate headshots.
However my interest in food was never far away and eventually I changed direction into photographing food, chefs, the staff and hospitality venues.
It's the best business choice I ever made!

WHY THE GOLDEN PINEAPPLES?
The Golden Pineapples have become a symbol of my brand—and it all started quite by accident.
I wanted an icon, a trophy that celebrated the value of photographers’ work. It began with the Golden Pineapple Awards in my online challenges.
They quickly became so coveted that I introduced them to the Food Photography Academy, where our monthly critiques culminate in the best images being awarded a Golden Pineapple.
Last year, I took it a step further and launched the Golden Pineapple Food Photography Awards. Open to anyone, this competition invites photographers to showcase their food and drink images in sweet, savoury, and drinks categories—all in pursuit of the prestigious Golden Pineapples.
These awards have become more than just trophies. They’ve boosted confidence, recognised talent, and encouraged photographers to push their creative boundaries. As long as the Golden Pineapples continue to inspire and celebrate food photography, they’ll remain a joyful part of what I do—a true celebration of creativity and visual storytelling.
